Space Race
My space race project was for my final major project were I wanted to communicate across the beginning of the space race were the Sputnik 1 launched. Furthermore, with this project I wanted to highlight significance of the technology and how basic it was compared to todays space travel. So the way that I showed this is through old printing method that was used for USSR propaganda posters and to show how far technology come I used augmented reality to show the importance of Sputnik 1 to the space race.
With this poster I designed it around the idea of USSR constructivism so that the poster would fit within the theme and time period of this project. I also saw that the style of these poster was bold and had a simple colour pallet. I also wanted to get the texture of the paper and the colour to give it more of an authentic look, so I decided to screen print the poster in A1 size.
Within this project I needed a way to present the QR code, so I decided to create my own Sputnik 1 model so that the cards can be presented within the model.
